Our Operation
Our farm prides itself on having clean, high quality seed. We are strictly a seed potato farm, minimizing risk of disease spread from lower generation production.
Every building and all equipment is subjected to a strict washing and disinfecting process. Every roller, frame and belt is hand-washed using high pressure and heat to ensure a clean surface. Disinfectant is applied to destroy any potential pathogens and maximize our protection against disease risks. We are proud to say that we have never had a case of BRR in our over 30 years of seed production.
Since 2006, we have been aggressively pursuing our goal of a fully irrigated potato farm. With zero irrigated acres in 2005, we now water roughly 90% of our production.
Utilizing our state-of-the-art facility, we are able to quickly and efficiently process custom seed orders including sizing, grading, cutting, liquid insecticide and powdered fungicide applications.
The Swan Lake area is not a potato production area. We are currently the only growers present, giving the farm an isolation advantage. Our farm also stretches to the Cypress River and Holland, Manitoba areas, both of which are low-intensity areas of production.
We deliver. Roughly 75% of our seed sales are hauled to the customer in our own live-bottom vans. We have the capacity for indoor loading of tractor-trailers and tandem trucks, as well as the ability to load B-trains on our concrete pad outside.
